The EVEDAYS Radix Converter is a free web tool for quick and intuitive number base conversions commonly needed in programming, network configuration, and hardware development.
Supported bases:
• Binary (BIN, base 2): The fundamental unit for all data representation inside computers. Consists only of 0s and 1s.
• Octal (OCT, base 8): Primarily used in Unix/Linux file permissions (chmod 755, etc.).
• Decimal (DEC, base 10): The number system we use in everyday life.
• Hexadecimal (HEX, base 16): Widely used in memory addresses, color codes (#FF5733), MAC addresses, and more.
Additional features:
• Bit Visualization: Displays the converted binary number bit by bit, allowing intuitive verification of each bit's ON/OFF state.
• Click to Copy: Click any conversion result to instantly copy it to clipboard.
• 4-bit Grouping: Binary numbers are automatically grouped in 4-bit units for improved readability.
Q. Is there a limit on the input number size?
A. Conversions are accurate up to JavaScript's integer precision (approximately 2^53 - 1). This is sufficient for general use.
Q. Can I convert negative numbers?
A. Negative numbers are only supported for decimal input. Binary/Octal/Hex results are displayed as unsigned 32-bit integers.
Q. Does case matter in hexadecimal?
A. Input accepts both uppercase and lowercase. Output is displayed in uppercase (A-F) for readability.
Q. Do I need to enter prefixes like 0b or 0x?
A. No. Since you specify the input base with the selection buttons, just enter the digits without any prefix.
